Yum! Today was our trip to Custard Corner! We had a lovely time walking their and back, but our favorite part was picking out our yummy treats and eating them together.
Usually, there is a limited menu of items to pick from. But this year, Mrs. McMillan let each student pick an item they'd like. Thank you to Mrs. McMillan, Ms. Rensi, and Mrs. Campbell for coming with us to Custard Corner to chaperone! Today, we finished our Weather Station Lab and decided to test them out by going outside. In the pictures below, you can see that we made a weather vane, rain gauge, anemometer, and barometer. It was cool seeing our barometer change and indicate that it was going to rain today (it did end up raining just a half hour to an hour later!).
Since it was nice weather outside, we decided to relax and read our Hatchet novel out in front of the school as well. Today, students were able to dress down in Mrs. Treusch’s favorite colors, which are teal or blue and orange (blue and orange are Mr. and Mrs. Treusch’s wedding colors). Happy Thursday! A big “thank you” to Elliott’s Bakery in downtown Trenton for writing Jenna back about their small business in today’s economy. They even included a gift certificate for her.
We sent letters to local small businesses, and we received responses back!
Rocco wrote to Toarmina’s Pizza in Trenton, and the owner, Ryan, sent us coupons for free pizzas! Thank you, Toarmina’s Pizza! Congratulations to everyone who participated in the book BINGO this month to celebrate March is Reading Month!
Eric and Jacob D participated and received a free dress down day for Wednesday next week. Hannah and Harrison completed more than 20 BINGO squares each and received three dress down days for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week. Way to go, everyone! We have Lenten penpal buddies that we write to all during Lent. Our penpals are from Mrs. Lokuta’s 2nd grade class. In church during Adoration, students had to contemplate and answer the following prompts:
1. Tell Jesus everything you are thankful for...list it all out. 2. Tell Jesus everything that is bothering you...list it out. Ask for help overcoming these battles. 3. Tell Jesus about something good that happened to you this week. Write it or draw it. |
