- Science: Midterm exam tomorrow. Complete the note cards that can be used on the midterm exam. You are not allowed to attach extra paper on the note card. You are only allowed to use the note card given to you (nothing bigger!)
- Social Studies: Yesterday was Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Today, we will read about MLK. HW: coloring page about MLK. Fill in the blanks and color MLK and each bubble portion.
- Literature: Complete the “Quickwrite” on page 243 and read “Before You Read: The Fairy Tale”. Read the story “The Emperor’s New Clothes” (pgs 244-248). HW: questions on page 250.
- Religion: Mass at church.
- Spelling/Vocabulary: Unit 8 vocabulary slides due Friday. Unit 8 Vocabulary Test on Friday. Fill in the blanks and do Choosing the Right Word in orange vocabulary workbooks.

- Science: Midterm exam today. No HW.
- Social Studies: Begin reading about Middle America on pages 200-205. Begin reading about Mexico (pages 206-209). HW; worksheet on Mexico.
- Literature: Read “Literary Focus: Fairy Tales” on page 270. Read the list of Elements of Fairy Tales and look for them as we read Rapunzel on pages 271-276. HW: questions on page 277.
- Religion: Start Pope Francis flipbook in groups, which is due at the end of the day on Monday next week.
- Spelling/Vocabulary: Unit 8 vocabulary slide due Friday. Unit 8 Vocabulary Test on Friday. Complete Synonyms and Antonyms in orange workbook.
- PE class is today.

- Science: Complete the first box of the “Investigative Phenomena” worksheet. Complete the “Accessing Prior Knowledge” worksheet.
- Social Studies: Read pages 210-217. Complete the “Mexico Goes Global” worksheet in groups.
- Literature: Turn in HW from yesterday (page 277, #s 1-5). Listen to the original “Rumpelstiltskin” story (teacher’s small purple book). Then read the more modernized version on pages 278-280. Look for differences between the two versions. HW: questions on page 281.
- Religion: Work in groups on the Pope Francis flipbook project, which is due Monday next week at the end of the day.
- Spelling/Vocabulary: Unit 8 vocabulary slides due tomorrow. Unit 8 Vocabulary Test tomorrow. Complete Completing the Sentence section in orange workbook. Check answers together.
- PE class is today.
- Friday, January 20, 2023
- Science: “Explore” activity about influences of weather and climate. Finish “Currents and Climate” worksheet in groups.
- Social Studies: Read pages 218-221 and complete the questions on page 221.
- Literature: Create the “Comparing Literature” chart on page 281. Fill in the chart in groups and turn in when completed. Discuss in class which story you liked the best.
- Religion: Visual prayer. Pope Francis flipbook project due Monday at the end of the class next week.
- Spelling/Vocabulary: Vocabulary slides due today. Unit 8 Vocabulary Test today.
- Computer class is today.
