Thank you to all of the 6th grade parents who helped their student pick out a shoebox (or something similar) for our Mystery Box Science Project! During our Chapter 1 readings, we have been learning about making observations and inferences.
While students were in Computer class, Mrs. Treusch placed mystery items in their boxes and taped them shut. Students had to use the senses they could to try to determine what the item inside could be. Each student had a different item, so they had to figure out the best way to test what it could be. Some students shook their box. Some students held their box in one hand and some of their own personal items in their other hand to compare and contrast the weights. Students made lists of what the items could be. Then we opened each box up to see if we were close to our guesses! |
