We had so much fun today at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum for our field trip. We dissected a cow eyeball and participated in other hands-on activities about magnetism, sound waves, water, and more! Thanks to all the chaperones who helped today, and thanks to all of the other parents and guardians who volunteered to drive. Here are some pictures of what we did today:

Today is the last Wednesday in March, which is Reading Month. So, today was "Dress Like a Book Character" Day. Everyone who wanted to participate was asked to dress like a character from a book and bring the book with that character in it to school. The book character could be a real person or a fictional character.
Here are some pictures from our fun day today! On Friday, April 29, 2022, the middle school (grades 6-8) will be going to the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. All students were given permission slips already, and Mrs. Treusch has extras in her room if anyone needs another hard copy. If a parent or guardian of a student would like to be a chaperone on the field trip, please fill out the first form (printed in white paper). Once Mrs. Treusch has received all the forms by Friday, April 8th, she will randomly choose chaperones. So, if you'd like to be considered for a chaperone position, please fill that first form out and have your student bring it back to school as soon as possible. If you are not interested or not available in chaperoning, you do not need to fill out the first form. The second form (printed on pink paper) needs to be filled out and signed and brought back to Mrs. Treusch. If a student is not able to go to the field trip, an alternate assignment will be provided for them, which will be graded by Mrs. Treusch for a Science grade. If you have any questions, feel free to email Mrs. Treusch.
Students now have two extra credit opportunities for March is Reading Month: one for Literature class and one for Spelling/Vocabulary class. See the attached documents (or the paper copies that will come home with your students) for more information. Today, we went and saw Cabrini’s production of “Once Upon a Mattress” play, which is a take on the classic fairytale “The Princess and the Pea”. We recently finished our unit on fairytales, so this was a perfect field trip to talk about modernized classic fairytales, which is a writing project we did in class beforehand. One of the 6th graders, Adrienne, was asked to come fill in as role of a knight during Act 1 of the play. She did a great job! Out very own Quinn won a free ticket to the performance in a couple weeks! After the play, we were able to ask some of the student actors and actresses as well as the adult staff members and crew some questions about theater, this particular play, and acting. Below is the Valentine's Day field trip permission slip. We will be going to Rev'd Up Fun on Valentine's Day. Please make sure the completed and signed form (it's on pink paper) is brought back to Mrs. Treusch by Thursday 2/10/2022. If you are a parent driver, please make sure with the office that you have all the necessary paperwork completed to do so.
Feel free to download another copy of the permission slip if you need to. Mrs. Treusch also has extra copies in her classroom, if needed.
There is a lot of exciting things going on for Catholic Schools Week, which starts on Monday 1/31/2022. Take a look at the document below. This was also sent out in an email from Ms. Thomas. In Social Studies class, we have been learning about European feudalism, including kings and queens, Church officials, knights, vassals, and serfs. We participated in an activity in which students got to see how money and resources are allocated and distributed during European feudalism. Each student was able to design and create their own pretend money for the activity.
